“A very pretty and well made Bakewell tart, golden brown with flecks of almonds, sitting on a soft and sticky frangipane. The pastry was thinly rolled, well lined and perfectly cooked. Crisp and delicious, the filling was really indulgent, soft and squidgy and sitting upon a lovely layer of tangy raspberry jam. It was all perfectly pitched. All the ingredients complemented each other well. Special mention must be made to the huge soft butter notes which lingered on the finish.”
